Nursing Home Employee "Accidentally Raped" Defenseless Resident

A seventy-one year old Washington nursing home resident was "accidentally raped" by a nursing home employee.

The alleged rape took place in mid-February 2010 when another nursing home employee overheard the woman crying in her room. When the employee opened the door, thirty-five year old Douglas McGregor was standing over the woman with his genitals exposed. When questioned by detectives, McGregor claimed the sexual contact occurred accidentally when the woman broke the button on his pants and exposed him.

The incident occurred at the Weatherly Inn at Lake Meridian, a Washington state assisted living facility for Alzheimer's residents.

McGregor was booked into jail and is being held on $250,000 bail.
