Illinois Nursing Home Resident Beaten To Death
An elderly Chicago man died after suffering blunt head trauma during a beating he received while a resident at Renaissance, a long term care facility in Chicago, Illinois. Ironically, Ivory Jackson had only been All Faith Pavillion, a Renaissance facility, for a few days before he died; he had been a victim of an assault at the last nursing home he lived in. The first assault resulted in injuries requiring surgery and he was subsequently taken to All Faith Pavillion, where he died a few days later from a second assault. Mr. Jackson died on Monday, June 23, 2008 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Law, Illinois. An autopsy determined his cause of death was from blunt head trauma suffered during the assault, cranio-cerebral injuries, and sepis.
